Cognent
offers Private Domain Name Registrations
As an
outspoken advocate for Internet privacy,
Cognent is now offering Private Domain Name
Registration Services to its customers.
El Paso, Texas - Monday, January 24, 2005 -
As part of its strategic plan to better
serve its customer base, Cognent, Inc.
announced today that it has begun offering
Private Domain Name Registration services to
customers. Cognent is an outspoken advocate
for Internet privacy issues and especially
the privacy of individuals who register
domain names for their companies or private
use.
Cognent’s Private Registration Service
allows customers to keep private their
contact information, including their address
and telephone numbers from public view,
information that they are required to submit
when registering domain names as per ICANN
rules. Cognent’s service replaces the
customer’s private information with
alternate contact information keeping the
customer’s information away from prying
eyes. WHOIS listings will show Cognent’s
information rather than the customer’s
private address.

growing concern about SPAM, identity theft
