Cognent Content Management System* (Cognent CMS)

The Cognent Content Management System gives the customer complete control over the content of their website by using simple online forms to add, change or delete content. The Cognent CMS allows customer’s the ability to change or add content to over 80% of their website, including adding menu buttons to add new content.

The look and feel of the website driven by the Cognent Content Management System can be substantially changed without loosing any content in the website. This allows customers the ability to update their website without the fear of loosing any content.

• Content can be added by simply filing out an online form.

The system is easy to use. All you need is a computer connected to the Internet in order to fill the appropriate fields with your own content.

The Cognent Newsletter Manager makes it easy to send and deliver your message, and also helps you manage your list of e-mail addresses with a simple step-by-step process. Your subscribers also get a personalized control panel where they can manage their individual subscriptions.

Cognent News Features

• Posting to the mailing list is via a webpage. It is therefore a one-way announcements system, directed from you to your audience.

• Cognent CNM enforces a double opt-in subscription system. Subscribers, who enter their details in the web based subscription page, will receive an email and have to activate their subscription to receive email newsletters. This ensures that your subscribers are not receiving SPAM.

• It is designed to be able to deal with a very large amount of email addresses. If a sending fails halfway, the next process for sending simply continues where it left off, without duplicating emails to users.

• Users can sign up to multiple lists. If a message is sent to multiple lists, they will only receive one copy of the email and not as many as the number of lists they are subscribed to. This allows the customer to maintain different newsletters targeting different customers. For example, the customer to could create a “new product” announcement for all its subscribers and another “tips & tricks” newsletter for current customers of a specific product or service. Customers could also create a newsletter for employees and another for customers, each with a different subscriber list.

• Newsletter Reader Tracking. You can see how many users opened your email. This is a rough indication, as many mail readers do not allow this, but it can still be quite useful.

• Click Tracking. You can enable tracking all clicks of all URLs in the emails you send and the Cognent CNM will report on the clicks on every single email. This can be viewed by message, URL or user.

• Send a Webpage. Just tell the Cognent CNM the URL of a webpage you want to send to your users and it will fetch it and send it out. You can even give the URL some user specific parameters that will fetch a different URL per user.

• Attributes. You can specify information you want to get from users when they sign up. When sending a message, you can use this information to select the users that need to receive the message. For example you can add geographical information. When people sign up, they can identify the geographical location they're in and when sending an email you can determine which locations need to receive the message.

• Personalization. You can use the attributes you define in the emails you send, to make every email personal to the user who receives them.

• The Cognent CNM supports HTML emails. If a user indicates they want HTML email they can receive it that way. If unknown the system has a bias to send text emails to users.

• Multiple List managers. One “Super” user can assign lists to multiple list managers, who can control their own pool of users and lists. The Super user can "prepare" messages that can be chosen by list managers to send to any of the lists they control. This is perfect for customers with multiple sales staff members who manage their own customers.

• Personal Details. Every email a user receives will contain a personalized URL to update the users' preferences. This way your users can update their own information and your database is always up-to-date. Unlike most other mailing list managers users can change their email address when updating their personal details. This is a major benefit to both you and your users as many people often change their email address, and this feature makes sure that they don't disappear from your system.

• Attachments. You can add attachments to your message. They will be included in the HTML emails. The users who receive text will get a special URL mentioned in their email telling them where to download the attachment from your website.

• Embargoed sending. You can create a message and tell the system to only start sending it at a certain date and time in the future.

• User management. You can use several tools to handle large databases of users. Users can be reminded to confirm their subscription and invalid emails will be found automatically, or fixed whenever needed.

• Email Bounce handling. Bounces can be processed and users will be automatically unsubscribed when too many emails to them are bounced. This can be corrected by the administrator in case the un-subscription was incorrect.

• Automated PDF creation. To ensure users can read the message regardless of their mail reader; the message can be automatically converted to PDF and attached to the email.
